I got one out of three projects I wanted to finish today done:
1) I wanted to test if I can get a CB radio working in my car and unfortunately because of the type of vehicle I have, they don't put out enough power in the cigarette lighter for a CB radio, but you can charge a cell phone all freaking day long as long as you want. SMH. Atleast I have a power converter that works with them in my house. By the way, I will be on the CB tonight if anyone wants to talk. I got to hear some truckers on Channel 6 earlier come through (via skip, I think). Still feel like a kid when I get on it.
2) I thought I would raise my antenna pole higher today, but I ran out of Mast poles. So I got to save up some money and buy some more 4-foot section pieces. Going to need some support wires for what I have in mind.
3) and speaking of my TV antenna, I was able to connect my outdoor antenna through my home cable network to my television in the living room and scan in 27 channels. It is amazing what a 4-way splitter and a small amplifier can do. Unfortunately, the only OTA channels I get are out of NW Arkansas, the ones that don't care for SE Oklahoma. Oh well, at least it is something for now. It makes for a good addition to my C/KU BUD already in place on both TV's. I don't watch a whole lot of TV as I prefer to listen to my prefered radio and music shows via satellite (better sound) that aren't carried on the "local" radio stations in my area.
Anyway, I feel somewhat productive. Got a few other projects I plan on getting started soon, including more communication options / alternatives for various data/information (something I've been STONGLY feeling that will be necessary soon). I also will be working on a few upgrades for my home / TBJS Radio Network studio and plan on getting back into the swing of things pretty soon (fingers crossed).
